Happy Half Birthday
Today is my half birthday...YAY!!!
A Little Sweet & a Little Nutty
Ok, so a frog wanted to build a house. Well he walked into the bank to ask for a loan. The teller whose name was Patty Wack told him she could give him a loan but asked him what he was going to pay collateral with. Mr. Frog brought out a little ceramic dog to pay the collateral. Patty Wack took the little dog and told Mr. Frog that she would have to double check with their boss to make sure that would be an acceptable payment. She showed it to her boss and said, Sir, do we even know what this is? He turned and said, “It’s a nick nack, Patty Wack. Give the frog a loan!”
I know another funny joke about a frog so the next time you see me ask me to tell you the frog joke.

A few moments ago I was wandering through the blogs when the thought entered my head....these people need to post more often....when all of a sudden the thought hit me... I haven't posted in a month! Very hypocritical of me I know. So I decided to come over here and post.
So now I have to think about something to post.....
I never have to look far.... Mary-John and Maitlyn are currently dancing to the previews of a movie.....yes that is correct, the previews of a movie. And now they are comparing thier pajamas.
"Maitlyn! they're both green and pink!" -Mary-John
Now they are singing "who did, who did, swallow Jonah and dancing as they sing.
"Maggie Please watch our dance please!" -Mary-John
"Wow... we can dance really good" -Maitlyn
"Hey hot stuff this is Maitlyn" -Mary-John (MJ is pretending to make a call on Maitlyn's phone)
Whitney just walked up here and said...."What did I miss?"
And Mary-John and Maitlyn continue their Jonah "boogie".....

Dear all,
One of my mother's most close and dear friends is suffering from severe congestive heart failure. This is a condition where her heart is just not strong emough to pump all the blood out to the body. The blood & fluid backs up & congests the lungs & also collects in other parts of the body. She really needs a heart transplant but is not a candidate because she also has multiple sclerosis. Sister Cheri Wolfe is 47 years old & has 3 small children. Please pray for her & her family. Please pray that the Lord will strengthen her heart if it is his will. The family's and her goal is to be home for Christmas. The Lord is already been answering prayers and she is hopefully getting to go with her family to her mother-in-laws this afternoon. Please pray that she will be strong enough to be able to go. Sister Cheri, to be so sick, is one of the strongest people I know. I know that God has blessed her with that strength. Please pray that she can continue to be a part of her wonderful family. Please announce this in your churches and ask your families to be praying for them as well. I know she will be so excited to hear that she has so many people around the country praying for her. Thank you all so so much.
God bless you all and I hope you have a blessed Christmas!

OK, I have no plan for this post so I'm just gonna smoothly let my fingers guide me. :-)
Our meeting which was like two or three weeks ago was fabulously fabulous, and Thanksgiving was wonderful as usual. We went to my Grandmothers house and after it was pretty much over, me, Graham, Caleb, Whitney, and Chelsea all had an acorn fight which was really fun. Whitney managed to steal their (Caleb and Grahams)acorns and dumped them out so Caleb drenched her with water. All was fun fun fun.
I also got to see the new Pride and Predjudice which was AWESOME!!!!!!!! Don't worry though. I won't force you to read through one more post about how awesome Mr. Darcy was. Although he was pretty awesome!
I'll try to post sometime soon when I can figure out how to use the scanner...for some reason I've been having a lot of trouble with that lately.
Anyway, good night sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLAIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God bless-

This morning started out with Jane Eyre and Breakfast, my cousin Stacey and violin. In other words, I read, ate, had a visit with my relative across the creek, and serenaded our empty house. (Momma and Maggie were out walking, Daddy was at the singing school grounds and Morgan was in Tennessee.) So I was aloud to play anything I wanted as loudly as I wanted! I had sort of plan for my day. I would ketch up on some things I hadn’t found time to do in awhile. Such as exploring, painting, posting, sky diving (jk), and you know stuff like that. Well around eleven my cousin Tyler (Toe toe head) calls and invites me to go see a movie with him Maddie, and Steph.(my cousin, their mom.) Maddie is six and is hilarious. First they had to go to the dentist. We stayed at the dentist for 2 and a half hours!!! I couldn’t believe how long it took! Well we finally got to the movies and the only thing playing was Chicken Little so we watched that. I forgot to mention that we met Stacey and one of Madison’s friends there too. After the movie we went to Barnes and Noble and got Starbucks. Don’t worry, this boring post gets better. Remember, I covered the Chicken Little part and the Starbucks part. What I haven’t gotten to though is the part about the 12 police cars. But y’all aren’t interested in hearing about that right? Well I’ll tell you anyway. I rode home with Stacey and as we get on the interstate we spot 7 police cars. Then Stacey says “look MJ, in your rear view mirror.” Another police car. But wait not only a police car but a speeding car. No, the car wasn’t only speeding but it was running from the police! It zipped in front of us and swerved around another car and kept on going. I couldn’t believe we were really seeing a chase. Then right behind that police car came another one so that made 9 police cars. Later on our road, right beside the Pritchett’s neighborhood we all of the sudden see at least 25 cars lined up all a long the road in front of some houses, and yes three police cars. So that was interesting, thrilling and surprising. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that this morning I also wrote Hobby Lobby a letter. Why you may ask did I write them a letter? Because I was very disappointed with the way they handle gift cards. For a company that purports itself to be a Christian based company, I was not happy with the way they handle some things. I’ll tell you about that some other time.
Also, it’s really Friday but I wont be able to post this on the internet ‘till tomorrow. Goodnight! Have a wonderful Saturday and Sunday!
Oh and one more thing, all of the police cars had their lights on.
Well until next time, buckle up and be safe! (our radio station always says that)

As a homeschooler, I am failing in geography. How was I supposed to know that to go from Dallas to Birmingham you had to go through Houston and Nashville. (Yes, this is a very long post but well worth reading.)
I have only flown once in my entire life and used to be scared to death of flying alone. But despite all that, I flew to Dallas last week to visit the Bruces and go to there church’s dedication meeting. I left at nine o’clock on Wednesday morning, went through Houston because I was flying southwest, and landed in Dallas at one o’clock, right on time. Everything went like clock work. I had no problems and every plane was on time or even early. I stayed at the Bruces through Monday. On Monday they dropped me off at the airport at twelve o’clock, I checked my bags, went through security, and found my gate. My plane was scheduled to leave at one o’clock, I checked the monitors and it was on time. At exactly one they came over the loud speaker announcing that flight 27, my flight, had been delayed for an hour. Well, I had a flight leaving Houston at two-thirty, I didn’t have time. So I went up to the desk and explained my situation, after what seemed like a half an hour but was probably more like five or ten minutes he very rudely pointed me to a different gate. I went and got in line and waited for about ten minutes at one-thirty the plane left. The flight from Dallas to Houston is supposed to be an hour, at two-thirty the pilot came over the speaker and said the plane should land in about fifty minutes. I will remind you that I had a flight leaving Houston at two forty-five! But I wasn’t worried, the flight attendants were counting how many people were going to miss a connecting flight and I was sure they would just put me on the next flight or my other flight would be delayed. We arrived in Houston around four, I immediately went to the monitors and when I didn’t see my flight number I got in line at the nearest desk. When I finally got up to the desk I gave my boarding pass to the man, told him what happened and asked where I needed to go, he Gate fifty-one and you need to hurry, was my replay. So I quickly headed in the direction the man pointed, down a long hallway and around a huge curve and there… was security, I had to stand in a long line and go through security again. Well I finally arrived at gate fifty-one, there was nobody at the desk and the sign said Baltimore. I hurried over to the nearest desk and once again got in line. The woman in front of me got up to desk and was told that they didn’t have a flight leaving until the next day and they would have to put her up in a hotel room, and for the first time that day I began to get very worried. When I got up to the desk the woman said I had missed that plane (no! really) and they would have to put me somewhere else, so she types around on her computer forever wrote on my old boarding pass gate twenty-three and told me I was going to Nashville and then on to Birmingham and when I got to Nashville I, without any information, could figure out where I needed to go. I hurried over to gate twenty-three and got in line hoping for some more information. Now at this point I was at the point of absolutely sobbing and to make it worse I was trying to talk to mom and she kept asking me how I was and if I was calm. I barely got out yes I am fine, I really wanted to cry and say no! I am not fine, I am all alone and I don’t know where I am going and I want to be home!! But I just kept praying please dear God give me control over my emotions. So I told her I would handle it and call her back as soon as I knew where I was going. After waiting, literally forever this time, the man at the desk gave me two boarding passes one for a flight to Nashville and another one from Nashville to Birmingham so I got on the plane. At this point it was all I could do to keep from absolutely sobbing. I called momma told her everything and said I would call her when I got to Nashville. By the time I got off the phone with momma a stray tear or two had strayed across my cheek. Both the women I was sitting by enquired if I was ok which only made me want to cry harder but I managed to say that I was fine , just frustrated. At five o’clock PM the plane took off for Nashville, I was supposed to be home at four-thirty. So I leaned back and closed my eyed and tried to go to sleep. When I woke up I was feeling much more calm and ready to handle anything. The plane landed in Nashville at six-thirty. I got off the plane found my gate, called home, and went on search of something to eat. As I sat in the airport eating really bad chicken fingers I realized that I was supposed to call Aunt Lynn when I got home at four-thirty and it was now after six-thirty. So I called Aunt Lynn and said, guess where I am? Needless to say she was very surprised, but I explained the situation to her I even almost thought it was funny. After eating I bought magazine and settled down to wait because my flight did not leave until eight-forty, I had to wait for two hours! But the time did pass and I got on the plane finally headed for Birmingham. The plane landed on time and I rushed out of the plane, luckily I was the first one off. Daddy was going to pick me so I headed to the baggage claim and called him. He met me there, we got my bag, and headed home. I arrived at home at ten o’clock PM, four hours after I should have arrived. I took me ten and half hours to get from Dallas to Birmingham; I could have just about driven it in that time. And so, I survived my first flying trip alone, but only barely.

Ok, I put my very unusual name in the search engine (I think that's what it is) followed by "needs" and the only thing that came up is "Mary-John needs Mental Help"
What are they CRAZY? No I don't! :-)

This is a game borrowed from Dan's blog. You put in Your name needs into the search thingy on the internet browser. This is what came up. Apparently I am very needy!
Maggie needs an alibi
Maggie needs friends-- any takers?
Maggie needs opinions
Maggie needs your help. She got herself into deep debt and sees no way out.
Maggie needs to feel validated
Maggie desperately needs to be transferred to either The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee or the Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) in California, where she would have her choice of companions and ample room to roam in a suitable climate
Maggie needs to learn how to respond to, or not respond to, people, dogs and other stimuli.
Maggie needs caring and understanding, just like Sheila had!
Maggie needs to be with her human all the time!
Maggie needs a cheating fiance.
Maggie needs to live with other elephants in a warm climate.
Maggie needs approval from men.
Maggie needs to get out of her trailer more often.
Maggie needs to find out if her competition is as dominant as she assumes.
Maggie needs to vent her secret love for Richard before she gets caught.
Maggie needs to go to war.
Maggie needs a sane mom more than a banana.
Maggie desperately needs two things: religion and a man who can express his feelings.
Maggie needs a bit more depth.
Maggie needs a bath.

Granny got married yesterday! Not my Granny. My sisters and I are her adopted granddaughters, a long with many others. The Wedding was beautiful, she was beautiful, and the singing was beautiful. They had some of the Vestavia members at the front singing for all of the music and for the service the Swindal children, and Rachel, a.k.a. Harmony Kids sang a few songs. (By the way, their new c.d. is great!) The Kyle sisters and The Lowrances came out. (Brother Sonny and Sister Voncille.) Granny came down the aisle to, “Amazing Grace” sung by the Kyle’s. It was beautiful. I don’t think I’ve seen any bride grin as much as she did. And then, the reception, it was great! They had a chocolate fountain!!!!!!! I’m not kidding! Then Graham, Rachel, Bradley, Joshua, Whitney, and I all decorated the car. It had things like, “Gov. in love” or “former Gov. Hunt just married. Honk if ura republican” written on it. Everyone had a good ole’ time.
Today we cleaned out our garage…there are not many words to say about that.
Well now, I will search through a few of my commonplace books and find something interesting to post.
“…It is weak and silly to say you cannot bear what it is your fate to be required to bear.”
-Helen Burns in “Jane Eyre” chapter 6
Well I hope everyone had a good week and I hop y'all have a wonderful Sunday to sart off your week. Good night!

As most of you are aware, Morgan and I recently moved up to the room over the garage and MJ is now in her own room. Well, as I sat here checking my mail MJ comes to the top of the stairs with her pillow and toothbrush in tow. Mary-John! You are not sleeping up here, I told her as she appeared. Why!! I have not slept up here in three nights. I think she forgets that she has her own room. Well good night everyone.

This past Friday after our return from Washington D.C. (which was AWESOME!!!!) we decided to take the day easy and enjoy a little picnic on the farm. The water was packed, the sanwiches were packed, the books packed and the blankets were packed. Our cousin Stacey came along with us. Now the farm we were going to belonged to one of our old sweet deacons of our church who was thrilled to hear we were coming. We got there slightly hungry but just couldn't resist a good ole' conversation with him and his wife before we headed out to the top of sunset hill. Sitting in their air conditioned living room, talking about his adventures in WWII and how he saved a man's life, got a silver star, a purple heart, and fought the Japanese, all in Australia was just what we needed to get over our hunger. After the World War II stories had ended (which I could have gladly listened to all day) we started our adventure in the back of the truck, through the briarpatch, to the top of Sun set hill. Half way there his truck stopped; so he got out and opened the hood and sat there for a few minutes rubbing his chin contemplating what to do. Finally Morgan called Sister Hazel back at the house and told her of our misfortune. It wasn't long before the jumper cabels were attached to the battery of her impala jumping off the old worn-out truck. mean while, sitting in the back of the truck, we girls , deciding we had been famished long enough broke out the sanwiches and lemonade. Who cares if our picnic wasn't on a shady hill with blankets and books we were satisfied with a rusty bed of a truck. (As long as we got to eat.) :-) After he had had his fill of lemonade, he started the truck back up and we were off! ah finally to the top! The view was beautiful! The hay had not yet been cut so with hay and briars ten inches ablove our ankles, the beauty of the scenery was taken away by ooh,,ahh oww ick! ouch! YOWY!!!! ih, ooh ow, man! it was nice though because after tromping through briars and dead grass, to lay down on a blanket with soft hay underneath was delightful. we had just all settled into our books...(oh and I must mention, Momma and brother Charles had just left down the hill to go back to the house for water)...

Dear Reader,
Here is your update. Last week we went to Washington D.C.. We went to the holocaust Museum, which was exhausting. The World War 2 Memorial and the Washington Monument. We went all the way up in it and surprisingly I did not get sick. Even though I was stupid enough to look down the crack of the elevator. We went to the Art Museum, that was really cool. We also spent a day at Mount Vernon, which is really Beautiful! (by the way, by "we" I mean Daddy, Momma, Me, and MJ. Morgan had school, much to her disappointment.) We got home Thursday evening and Friday we went to the farm but ended up spending most of the day in the back of a truck because it kept breaking down but it was still great just to be out of the house. Saturday I was mildly sick, Momma and Daddy went to Aunt Rachel's birthday party, and the Pritchett children came over to watch a movie. (A Series of Unfortunate Events)
Sunday I had a head ache and was still a little sick so I didn't go to church and church that night was canceled because of the weather. Yesterday we did school and today I am work. So that is what we have been up to.
