A waste of postage...I mean a wasted post

Well I reckon it's past time for me to be a postin' on this here piece o' technology.
And indeed it is! I wrote a poem with intentions of posting that piece of scrap paper as I like to call it here but you shall have to wait for that as well. (What are you waiting on for you to have to wait on that as well???) Anyway, don't you get tickled when little kids (children, not goats) say something funny, or remember something you've long forgotten! Just the other day my younger cousin Madison remembered that one of my eldest sister's friends gave her 25 points for hula-hooping... The hula-hooping itself took place weeks before! Well that is all I shall say about that.

That very friend (the one that gave Madison 25 points for her fantastic skills with the hoop) told my family the other night about an exchange student that was attending her school and a few of the interesting happenings during Phina's (I guess that's how you spell her name...It's German) stay here in the states. Before Phina came to this state, She went to New York for a class informing her and several other exchange students of things we say that they wouldn't understand. Such as, "See you later!" If we said that to someone who had just learned English, they would expect to really see us later that evening. For example, American southerner probably :-) : We'll see y'all later! Phina: What time?
They might answer with something like that. It's true when you think about it.

Speaking of foreigners coming to the states, Obey a member of a pb church near us is, came over from Tanzania, and will be leaving soon. :-( please be in prayer for him and his family in Africa.
Anyway, my fondest memory of him would have to be this...
Rachel my friend had sunglasses on her head used as a head band and Obey came up to us and said "Rachel! I did not know that you wore glosses!" (you have to hear his accent!) So Rachel said, "Oh! These aren't glasses for my sight, they are sun glasses to block the sun." Obey turned to me and said, "Oh I see." "Marjoniqua, do you have sun glosses too?" It was SO funny! It would have been much funnier for you if you had heard his deep African accent.
Well I suppose that's all for now. Be good girls and boys! (AND DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT :-))

blondes and birthdays

My oldest sister turned 18 in march. (Boohoo, we are all getting so old it makes me want to cry!) Well one of our very good friends was not able to be there. So last saturaday my sisters and I went to spend the night with them. After dinner M.F. (my friend) suddenly came out with a small birthday cake and they all start singing happy birthday... well in my blondness, the whole time they're singing I am thinking to my self...Whose Birthday is it? I know M.F.B. (my friends brother) 's birthday is next week , but why would they be singing to him now?. So about the time M.S. (my sister) blows out the candles it accures to me duh!It is for M.S. Well to add to the excitement, as soon as the candles are out on that cake M.F. comes out with another small cake , but this one was horribly deformed. She had tryed to make a cake and it had messed up so she had to get her mother to go buy one. So we all sang again and then we ate cake! -PK-

Peachy-keen's first post

Early this week I was confronted by my sister and begged to go in with her on a Blog with the promise that I wouldn't even have to post. So, I agreed. As soon as the blog was set up I was promtly begged to post with much encouragement from a certain someone in Dallas with very long blonde hair. So I am here now to post. There that was my post. I hope every one has a very good week. And I promise I shall post again! PK

Proverbs 16:32

Marjoniqua~

Proverbs 16:32
He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
and he that ruleth his spirit, than he that taketh a city.

This scripture may be one of the greatest verses in Proverbs. Though there are many, Proverbs 16:32 portrays an excellent point. With control of anger, you are better than those who have conquered cities and better than those who have gained glory and might through great victories! God through Solomon tells us that. Ruling our spirits means leading lives of love, joy, peace, goodness, longsuffering, meekness, and temperance. Ruling our spirits in a godly way, not letting Satan take control and make us angry: that is ruling our spirits. A man that rules his spirit and leads a godly life is better than great conqeurors with no self control. Someone living a simple, humble, and godly life, has more riches than a man who's gained great victories in the world, but has yet to conquer his anger.
This verse is a favorite of mine because it is a great reminder for me not to get caught up with worldly pleasures and be quick to anger, but to rule my spirit and ask the Lord for that ability. It's O.K. to have power, and to be successful in this life but if we cannot conquer our spirits and emotions, what then have we gained? Nothing. :-)

I Am Your Shepherd

I Am Your Shepherd

Is your heart bowed down in sorrow
And you're asking what brings tomorrow
Let me tell you 'bout a sinner gone astray,
Headed down the road of destruction,
wouldn't follow the Lord's instructions
getting deeper into trouble day by day.

And he told me, "I am your shepherd, I will lead you on.
Just lean upon me, for i am big and strong."
When I'm discouraged, it seems I hear him say,
"I am your Shepherd, I'm with you all the way."

Put your in Christ dear brother
He can comfort you like no other
He can make each pain and trouble go away,
Lift your voice and sing His praises
For His power outlasts the ages
And will take you home to Heaven some sweet day.

And He'll tell you, "I am your Shepherd, I will lead you on.
Just lean upon me, for I am big and strong."
When I'm discouraged, it seems I hear Him say,
"I am your Shepherd, I'm with you all the way."

When someday we've made it over to that city beyond death's river
Then it won't be by the good deeds we have done,
For the Holy one up in Heaven, full salvation has freely given
Through the merits of His only Darling Son.

And He'll tell us, "I am your Shepherd, I will lead you on.
Just lean upon me, for I am big and strong."
When I am discouraged, it seems I hear Him say,
"I am your Shepherd, I'm with you all the way."

Well, That was troublesome!

Hello!
We have a blog! I really hope this works. :-S (frantic smiley.) I do hope you will all find something interesting here, and comment away! Yes, I admit, creating this blog was troublesome. (Well, of course it was for me! I am such a computer dunce!) But, I am glad I now have a place to post my thoughts and opinions about the world in general! (Which I have many! as Caitlin Bruce did say.) Well, It is late and I do need sleep sooooo, I must end this short opening note with a goodnight and a God Bless you all!
~M
Yes I know that was very random, and I do apologize, but I assure you it will become more interesting. (At least I hope!)
